Knysna

The beautiful town of Knysna, often reffered to as ‘The Jewel of the Garden Route’, is embraced by the Outeniqua Mountains on one side and the spectacular Knysna Lagoon and Indian Ocean on the other side. Situated 500km from Cape Town and 260km from Port Elizabeth, in the heart of Knysna lies the beautiful 21ha lagoon, with the Heads, a pair of prominent sandstone cliffs, which flank the channel through which the sea pours into the Knysna’s lagoon. The town is famous for it's Oysters, beer, the Knysna Lourie, elephants, the little pansy shell, and is home to the unique Knysna seahorse. The mysterious forests which is one of SA's greatest natural heritages, boasts species such as Stinkwood, Real yellowwood, Blackwood, White alder, Ironwood and Hard pear. The lagoon is permanently open to the sea, and is popular for angling, canoeing, diving, camping, swimming, walking, boating and commercial oyster cultivation.

Sedgefield

Sedgefield, bordering on the Swartvlei lagoon is a beautiful village set in the heart of the SA's Garden Route. The town is located between Knysna (25km) and George (35km) in the Lakes District, a bird watchers paradise. This popular holiday destination is surrounded by forests. Five sandy beaches spread out on both sides of the Swartvlei lagoon estuary, the largest natural salt water lake in South Africa.
